The color white could be warm and peaceful

A white Parisian Home

The color white looks great with textured white wash brick walls ..this mostly  white loft belongs to Interior Designer Roxo Beis, it is quite minimalistic,  but it also feels very warm and comfortable…

The mixture of brick, wood, a touch of black and total white looks terrific…an industrial style with lots of personality…

This loft has great bones, the stone wall and the white wooden  beams are perfect for the color white…Yes you can paint your wooden beams white..there is nothing sacrilegious about it, it brightens up a room….

Going for a walk in Montreal

Yesterday was a beautiful day, so I went for a walk on Sherbrooke Street in Montreal,

I wanted to share this walk with you my lovelies.

Along the way, I met this Chihuahua, it was quite an encounter, he was as excited as I was about this lovely weather and he started following me on my expedition. I could not stop him and his master was really surprised and confused, so I had to turn around so that he would follow me back to his master, then we said our goodbyes.

If this chihuahua would have stayed with me, this is what he would have seen.

Montreal is getting ready to celebrate its 375th  anniversary. So Sherbrooke street is getting enhance with beautiful sculptures. Montreal can be very attractive when it makes an effort.

I have to mention the marvelous glass sculpture of Dale Chihuly ( looks like a Sea Anemone) that was installed last year in front of the Musée des beaux Arts de Montreal.

Suddenly a leaping hare appears right in front of your eyes.

This elegant horse has been here for a while.

Montreal’s fashion is well known all over the world, so don’t hesitate to pay a visit to a few boutiques.

Those are quite yummy shoes, and we all know they mean business and add to color in summer time.

OOPS, so sorry just wanted to tell you that Montreal is great but not so perfect sometimes, but I had a lovely walk and I do enjoy my city.  We have numerous festival, but unfortunately we also have a unique festival of orange cones. Believe me Montreal is worth visiting my lovelies.

A minute apartment with a soul

If it is small, it has to have soul

Via Architectural Digest

Chris Stevens a Manhattan Designer has created a home in a very small studio.

The living room is tiny but absolutely complete, a comfy sofa is facing a comforting armchair.

In a small living area, adding an ottoman is useful for an extra seating.

When you live in a limited square footage apartment, it is very important to have a place for each thing in order to create harmony. Chris has really succeeded in creating great harmony even though he has no tendency for minimalism, every decorative objects and pieces of furniture are totally in synch with each other.

I find that Chris decor represents his life at every corner, it has soul and perfect balance.

Chris is a real artist, he can play with patterns and colours in his small bedroom and there is a superb dialogue taking place amongst them.

Celebrate you small interiors my lovelies, don’t be afraid to decorate and make it totally personal, remember this is your home.

An amazing cement castle

From a cement factory to a contemporary Camelot.

The home of Architect Ricardo Bofill is an old cement factory purchased outside of Barcelona Spain in 1973 and has been renovated with his team, he certainly infused a soul into this very cold industrial building.

The legendary Camelot of King Arthur

The cement factory towers are now totally covered with greens which gives them a magical feeling of Merlin revisited.

The cement factory “”La Fabrica”” is now transformed into an oasis and a private home.

La Fabrica working place is engulfed with light.

Arches and luminosity.

The Master bedroom with its roman windows reminds us of Guinevere’s bedroom.

Queen Guinevere by Henry Justice Ford 1910 artist and illustrator.

The roof of each building is covered with greenery.

The cement factory dining room is quite intimate considering the height of the ceiling.

I absolutely adore this living area with its bookshelves and its immense white Philippe Stark like drapes.

A cathedral ceiling and a cozy room.

A small Zen office in a castle is possible.
